Time to buy a new battery for my M2. Any recommendations? I was looking at a Scorpion with 320cca. I think I had one & was pleased with it, but it's been a few years since I bought one for my Buells. Always have them on tenders. For some reason I could not find much using the search. Thanks in advance...Rich

You don't see much on the forum about batteries because the Harley battery works. I bought my M2 in 2007 still using the same battery I have no idea how old it is. The Sportster dragbike has a battery I bought in 2005. It does not have a charging system run the bike come back to the pits put on charger, I average 3 starts per pass.

In 2013 I replaced the O'reilly Auto battery in my M2. The old one was dated 2006, so I bought the same one. Parts guy says lots of tuners run the same batt in their 4 cyl cars to save weight

I bought this one a couple years ago and so far great luck. A noticeable difference from the old ones. It is a AGM style also.

The Big Crank and the HD batt are both made by Deka.

Can anyone recommend a smaller than stock battery for my Buell s1? I'm modifying the rear section and want to relocate my battery. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help would be great.

I was at a bike show a few weekends ago and battery tender was marketi9ng and showing off their new batteries that oddly enough are battery tender compatible... ; ) anyway, its amazing how small and light weight they are!!! they say they are fully compatible with all bikes. my buddy bought one for his ducati..

the batteries are lithium ion phosphate and they have multiple connections for the leads so that you can hook up the main bike leads to one set and accessories to another.

they shave about 8lbs (or so)off the weight of a battery and have a 3yr warranty.

they are produced by deltran.

Thanks Jolly, has anyone had any experience with antigravity batteries? I just watched a YouTube video and they seem like a viable option...

I went with Buell-bert's recommendation. For $87 plus free shipping I couldn't pass it up. Cranked it right up. Made in the usa by epm (Deka), I'll see how it lasts....

I could not believe how quick/fast the engines turned over with these batteries in both my bikes. Also the cost vs. the cold cranking amps plus the free shipping. I am happy so far.

Following the motorcycle show in Seattle, I did some on-line research about lithium ion batteries.
They don't work well in the cold.
They can short internally to produce an arc-welding kinda flash which can burn your bike up.
Better ones will have a built-in circuit board to ensure each cell charges properly, otherwise one cell can charge too little and the next will then overcharge.
And so on.
There's a variety of lithium-... types. To my mind, they are still a work in progress. To cut 8 pounds of weight on the bike, I will diet.
