ok I replace the fuel pump on my 99 x1 cause when I tested the pressure it went up to 5psi only, now the issue I install the new pump still the same thing. My question the fuel pressure regulator when I inspected the whole assembly I could turn it by hand and the screws are tight is that normal?? now I did unscrew it and it look sort of dirty is that a common issue as well. also where could I find one?

Thought that reg was held in by either metal or plastic clips, sits on an o-ring.O- ring could be bad allowing pressure to bleed by or reg is toast.

Well if their is a o-ring their it might of dissolved with time lol along with plastic clips. When I took the assembly out the regulator its held in its place by 2 metal screws in across from each other. The regulator you could turn by hand and had a little play in it do you know if that is normal?? Of course the low fuel sensor wire looks like it burned off from it.

Tony, you need to update your profile.

Call Al at American Sport Bike and ask for advice.

Should be able to turn as all it seats against is that o-ring.
