hey all,

Come across this pic of an X1 and noticed it had a very nice custom swing arm on it. Does anyone know if these are able to be purchased at all, from ANYWHERE? Or is it a 1 off custom made piece. Ive seen a couple of bikes with them so im hoping they can be bought from someone, or they all had the same idea for a custom piece.

Looks sharp for sure. I wonder how heavy it is compared to the stock aluminum ones?

Looks a bit out of place, to me. It's a bit too chopperesque.

There was another company making a tubular swingarm in something more conventional. Can't remember the name offhand.

Wasn't going to say anything since I were accused of being over opinionated recently Rick ; )

Yes that swing arm is totally form over function and really not performance orientated (even if it may work well I would not know) as it's just for looks. Wrong bike wrong arm, unless the intention is to theme the bike like a body piercing??

It's ghastly! Looks like it was designed for a different bike and then bodged onto the X1.
I was about to say that the rear shock mount looked too long because of the angle of the shock relative to the ground..... but it looks more like a short shock front mount used with an older long shock - complete with SRP.

There's so much on that bike that serves to complete screw up a perfectly good X1!

Ghastly??? I don't think so. Is definitely a lot of "Form over Function" and I wouldn't want one, but I don't even find it unattractive, let alone "Ghastly".

This is another one of those "There's an ass for every seat" threads. I would have put my money into an upgraded shock and maybe some XB forks and ZTL brakes before going to that boat anchor swing arm, and the only reason I would consider changing to an aftermarket arm at all would be to shave weight off - and I bet neither of those arms accomplish that. But that's me.

Nope, definitely ghastly ; ).

.....I mean the top one by the way. Nothing much wrong with the one on the S1. Aesthetics aside, pretty much everything on the X1 makes it functionally inferior to a stock bike.
I like the fact that it still has the oe mirrors though : ).

Ghastly indeed... If you build a swingarm for an S1 or X1 it should somewhat follow the design lines of the exposed frame. The second example is better in that regard, the first bike looks like something OCC would do...

Won't be the first time one's been modified to fit a Tuber.

RAM used to make them specifically for Buell.

Any idea how much they cost? They don't list a price, not surprisingly.

Dont personally like the top one but the second one I like the frame is tube and the swingarm plays off of that would not use it but the looks are fine.

Now the single sided! Just Sweet love it.

I do believe Ducati ones have been modified to fit Tubers. Can't be that difficult shirley? I know they can be bought complete here for a few hundred pounds from breakers these days.

Can't imagine the States wouldn't have breakers selling them reasonAbly priced. So how hard can it be to modify a Ducati one to suit a Tuber. And if memory serves, I have a feeling from years ago the RAM ones were exactly this. A modified Ducati SSWA.

The duck ones have been adapted it takes some machining and creativity. I do believe the biggest cost in that set up is the rear wheel and mounting parts.

I always thought the lines of the cast aluminium swingarm flowed really nice with the motor. the only hangup was the cheap plastic front pulley cover. I wish someone (with more time and tools than me) would build an aluminum piece that flows with the same lines of the cam cover like it does on a Sportster.

I have tried different ways to hide it, but it is like putting lipstick on a pig.
