Iam interested in having one of these for my 98 S1W. I have talked to Al at American Sport Bike and he is interested in carrying them if we can get enough people to commit. I also talked to Barbara and James at Banke. He is interested in doing them but would like to have at least 10. I think we should get more than that. Just putting out a feeler on this and see what kind of interest it will generate. I have attached a pic from American Sport Bike's website on the product.

Here is a thread from 2011 for a group buy on these. Good read. Give you a general idea on pricing. That was two years ago so may be a little more now but at least you got an idea. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/648289.html |

I've since found one that to me looks like an improved design. Instead of only o-rings, there's a thin shelf around the middle, just below the threads. Makes a positive 'stop' going in, not held just by glue. It has a little Pegasus cut into the screw-cap, too. Don't know who made it, got it offa eBay. |

Hey Jeff, does the bottom piece just press in or is it "fixed" in place some how?.... another cool part being resurrected. Nice effort!! hmmmm aluminum oil tank or an aluminum threaded top for the plastic tank... |

The bottom piece presses in with two o rings. Then the top piece threads in. Nice alternative if not going with the aluminum tank. |

I have one on my S3 and it is a great product. I also installed mine with a sealant, which I think at the time was recommended. |

Anyone else like one of these Banke made oil dipsticks. Would like to get them made. |

You will still need to glue or secure the bottom to the tank otherwise you can not unscrew the cap I had 2 of these and that was the only issue. |

I'm still interested. Instead of only o-rings, there's a thin shelf around the middle, just below the threads Jayvee-could you post a pic? |

I don't want to come off negative but, I bought one of Ken's old ones (pretty sure it was Ken's) awhile back. After installing I didn't see much of an advantage over the stock "cork" and it was kind of a hassle unscrewing it, so I took it out. I understand it's intention is to reduce or eliminate the dirt which builds up around the plug from falling in when you remove the dip stick. The only time I check the oil is during my normal "preflight" and I just brush or blow the dirt away. With that said it does look nicer than the old cork-aroo. Other's experiences may differ... |

Looks like we may have 6 people interested. I will give Banke another call and see what I can get them made for and let everyone know. |
