"still curious why people buy them then if you can just make a stocker a racer"

Because ecmspy didn't always exist. Getting the race map meant buying a race ECM. There was no way to program them yourself.

haha I get it now my bad. Been working on the idle map and the hang when warmed up is between 1500 and 2000 rpm the 4 boxes on the bottom. can I modify both front and rear the same # or is there a guideline to follow with doing the rear?

I adjusted the values between 1000 and 1200 rpm the bottom 4 boxes and she seems to idle smooth until I blip the throttle then she hangs. I ran idle until warmed up and computer said it switched to closed loop and ran there till about 185C then shut her off, I ran her one more time this way and then checked the afv and it is still at 100. Im not sure how accurate that is right now since the intake air sensor is bad so I am getting new plugs and running it in closed loop idle a few times and check the plugs.

This is going to seem silly, but try dropping your idle (when HOT) to about 950. That solved my idle hang issues, and it has for a few other folks as well.

That does not sound silly at all I've actually been doing just that for nearly a year now. I actually thought that was a nono as it was not addressing the problem at hand. This program is BA since I can see exactly where it hangs mabey I can add a tad more fuel to kinda drop it back down if not the ol idle drop is in order. She cranks for a sec before kicking and the initial crank is kind of a surge. I think a weak starter and a tad too much fuel on start up but now I am being picky... Its like 70'F in SW Florida right now doing nothing would be a great opportunity wasted.

The hang is actually between 1200-1500 rpm Tps is between 10-20. had it wrong before. Probably going to add a point or two in this direction for return idle. and taking one point off 10-20 tps within the 0 Rpm and see if it helps with cranking.

when in closed loop the o2 sensor is picking up weather it is lean or rich is this when the intake air temp sensor comes into play or is that all the time while running.

More learned minds than mine can probably give a better answer, but here goes.

The O2 feedback is used while the bike is in the "learned" area of the map, which is only active under a fairly narrow range of operating conditions, (rule of thumb, top gear at 65 MPH, steady throttle) and it uses this feedback to do a wholesale adjustment of the AFV, which is then applied under all conditions in all areas of the map.

I think the intake sensor input is also used in all areas of the map to adjust the mix based on air temps, though I do not know whether it's a simple constant % increase or decrease across the board (like AFV) or if it is progressive.

The engine temp sensor similarly adjust fuel based on engine temperature.

I think the key though, is that the AFV, which is learned, is applied across the board, even outside the learned areas of the map.

Makes sense to me. Right now I am kinda doing the old fashioned spark plug checks at different loads and different rpm's and yup this lady is lean. I am doing the exact thing on my dads truck minus the ecmspy ease since I dropped a bored out motor with strait pipes and cold air intake now its lean everywhere and the engine sounds like it wants to go but no torque and white plugs,, same crap... lol...

Picked up a mini laptop for the spy work. Hopefully I find a tank bag before the temp sensor comes in. since I got rid of the weisco and started adding fuel to the system the head and base gaskets stopped weeping is this normal. I am doing a top end anyway and do the xb heads for the oil puking. building the turbo system while acquiring the heads and etch.

Finally got time to tinker and im getting stoked about the turbo build. I finally ordered a new intake air sensor and tail lenz from american sport and they came in the other day. I haven't had time to run it with the new sensor to see if the afv changes any but het the trouble code is gone. Mocking up pipes for the turbo currently and waiting on parts but in the meen time im doing a top end rebuild and pulling the gear box out to inspect second. Ive done everything to try and fix the grinding but I think looking at replacing a few gears. Anyone know where I can get tranny gears.

Oh by the way the drain plug for the primary had metal shavings so I believe I've got some worn dogs. Anyone know which gears are involved with a Grindy shift only between 1st and 2nd would that be worn dogs between the 2 gears.

The new 54 mm clipons are supposed to arrive today but here is a few updates. I bought a New in the box corbin for $35. Also I have been polishing the rocker and derby covers. Waiting on head gaskets before I tear the engine down.

I've been wondering where do yall get rear sets from. Ive looked all over and cant find anyone selling any for a x1. Oh by the way I am having a custom aluminum gas tank made for it for a lower profile and easier to tuck into...

clipons arrived and I'm in the process of installing them under the triple. are there any rear sets from other bikes anyone know that will fit on these x1's. for the price of the ones for these I might as well lop off a nut and hand it over but hey I'm done with having kids so if it comes to it that's one less thing to sit on while cruising around lol. on a serious note I am getting sick of babying second and I am now getting false neutrals going into 4th and 5th so I think its time to investigate and locate parts...

Well when I finally bit the bullet and buy the cable it looks like I know who to ask for advice how to do it. I get a bad hesitation at 3000 rpms. Normally at cruise every gear.
