My S2 is 1995. Doing some Google searches, I'm tending to think that it won't fit. Onahog was selling a "rare S2 frame brace" a couple of years ago. I've sent him a PM on the question. Hope to hear back from him soon but I'm probably out.

The S2 doesn't need such a brace because the front heim joint mount is made from straight pieces of tubing. The later tubers used bent tubes, and are not as rigid. In 99 the factory added the brace to compensate for the bent tubes. in other words...don't waste your money.

Hootowl is probably correct, I'm new to the s2 stuff, but it does make sense.... However, I have a spare frame brace and an s2, I will test fit it tonight and let you know.

The I.D. of the clamp will be too large for the S2 frame.

I just tried to bolt it on to the s2... it fits around the frame tube but the front piece of bent steel that bolts the brace to the v down tubes and connects at the bolt that the horizontal tie bar needs to be a little different shape. so does it fit, no, could it fit, yes with a different front mount that is nothing more than a bent piece of steel.

Hmmm. Thanks for the input, everybody. Fitting loose around the tube is what I been expecting, which could be shimmed if necessary.
I think I'll bow out for now but Jeff, if you end up stuck with extras still a month down the road I'll step up to the plate and make it work whether the S2 needs it or not. You've done a fine thing.

mine was not loose around the frame tube on the S2 when I bolted it on, I have not measured the frame tubes between an S1 and an S2 so I can not confirm any difference in tube diameter, but I did bolt the brace on and I was able to tighten it down fine. the only issue was the front piece of bent steel that forms the front mount point needs to be changed just a bit.

its certainly possible that the diameter of the tubes is lightly different, but it did tighten down and not show any gaps around the clamping surface.

If I can get another front mount without the brace mount hole drilled I will try and bend it a bit more and drill it for the correct mount bolt hole (brace to mount hole, the bolt hole that mounts to the "V" down tube is correct)then it becomes a model to work from.

Jeff, can you get me another front mount with just the frame mount hole drilled? Ill take this on in my "spare time"...

Sure no problem Dave. Nice work with the fitment. Eric no problem and thanks. Having a separate mounting bracket for the S2's would be no problem at all. I will give you a call Dave and get out the brackets to ya.

Jeff, before you get one for me I might have him make a few for me... need to take some measurements but I think starting at the baseline bend angle and 1 at minus 2 degrees and 1 at minus 4 degrees bent on his metal brake might give me a better starting point than "place in vice, bend with hammer, hope for best results" approach. basically I need to close the bend, but I don't know how much, its slight and a few degrees might be all it needs.

No problem Tom. Looks awesome. I like that it has the holes and thus doesn't take away from the bike/engine. The machinist is definitely really good. He is the one doing Jolly's drive support arm and the side kickstand/footpeg plates as well. We will be doing a front pulley/sprocket cover soon as well with different designs on the face. Glad you like it and thanks for the feedback and picture.

sorry Ive been incredibly busy working on other issues. the brace will "fit" but your front bracket will have to be a little creative. I was thinking of a block design that is threaded for the brace bolt to thread into then an extension of flat plate for the "v" frame down tube/tie rod bolt to pass through. the issue is that its just about 1/2 to long on the s2 so it fits tight at the front. I think it will work I just havnt sat down and really looked at the art of possible when I mocked it up on my s2... if you solve it, please share!

Regarding the use of the brace on an S2 - the S2 suffers from the tie bar mount flexing as much as other pre-'99 models. It was quite surprising to see how much the mount would flex the first time that I ran an S2 on a dyno.

When I think about it--- (I' d have to confirm) I think the '97 S3 was the first to run the extra brace tube to the front tie- bar mount - not 1999.

Ok both braces are sold. Sent out today USPS. Now...anyone else that wants one we can keep a tally on here and when we get a certain amount I will have my machinist make more. Have to get a cut off number and see what that will be. Thanks.

Decided to weld one in instead, so I can weld an arm onto it to hold my XB oil cooler. So I just posted my brace in the classifieds if anyone wants one.
