Never really had a problem with my '01 X1 seat. Been using the X1 as my primary transportation/daily driver, commuting to work, etc.

Today I ran down to Galveston for the Lone Star Rally to get a t-shirt. Sat through traffic and made it down there no problem.

A few minutes later I started back and it wasn't a few miles that I swear my stock seat became a medieval torture device.

JFC! Anyone else run into this on distances of 2+ hours?

The stock x1 seat is known as an uncomfortable one you could look at getting a after market seat or if your handy make your own that fits your self maybe some memory foam or something along those lines you can get the supplies from like a Jo-Ann's or Michaels or any upholstery shop. I personally have rode for 3 hours on mine one way(3 hours back after 2 hours off) and have no problem with it but I'm sure next year I will tear into the seat and replace the foam and shape of it or maybe this winter. Had plans to do it but the bike is away for the year and just got the gf a new car so funds are cut away for a couple months

The stock seat is murder.
I had Corbin make a seat for mine but the locating post was off by 1/2".
They asked me to send in photos of the stock seat and their seat which I did.
Their helpful solution was to tell me that I need to push the seat up further.
I had to relocate the seat latch in order to get it to work.
If you're going to go Corbin I'd look for a used one which has actually been mounted on a motorcycle. I would NOT buy a new one!
There's also several vendors which will build a seat around your stock pan.

Ahh! A fellow Texan. I, too, was down there today. Weather couldn't have been better, though a bit windy on my way back home around 330 or so...

I second the reshaping of the foam. Did that to my Honda a few years ago, and the change was pretty good. Not $600 seat good, but free seat good.

The standard X1 seat is comfy enough for 500+ mile days :-)

Kevin, you are a machine!

When I got the bike I was thinking what a unique saddle. Hadn't seen one like it before. You really sit 'in' the bike rather than on top of it. I think it contributes to the falling into corners feel I get.
