So my resavoir tube broke today on my rear brake line I went and got a new tube now my rear brake will not pressurize I tryed bleeding and the fluid didnt squirt out it sorta oozed out. I'm worried my master cylinder may be broke. Advice? | ||

It is sometimes very hard. Try bleeding it back from the caliper to the master. I recently bought a kit to do it and it has saved a lot of time and my sanity has improved. | ||

I took the top of the brake line off and discovered my master cylinder isn't pulling fluid from the reservoir to the brake line so it's not coming under pressure which isk why it isn't | ||

Brake bleeder pump , priceless.. If not you can hold the pedal down and crack the bleeder tighten bleeder and pump and repeat. Takes forever this way. | ||

Ya I literally spent a hour doing that I think I'm gonna spring for a brake bleeder vacuum. Anyone have a Extra one they don't want?  if so send it my way | ||

I've removed the caliper,pipe and master without splitting it and bled it on the bench, that way you can tie off the caliper higher than the master and presto air rises allowing you to bleed them, saves time and fluid in the long run if you dont have a mechanical/pneumatic bleeder.......it worked for me | ||

@gusm makes sense I never thought about that maybe I will try it with just raising the caliper above the master cylinder on the bike it should work in theory right? Same thing as what u did? | ||

Harbor freight sells a cheap bleeder I have not used it but might be the ticket for once in a while. I think it is under $25.00 | ||

What kind of tubing from the master cylinder to the reservoir? The first two I tried, 1ste from H-D, 2nd from Kragen, both would weep brake fluid over time. Finally got some Tygon, from Kurvey Girl, it works. | ||

Do you have enough free play in the lever for the piston to fully retract? The port needs to get exposed so fresh fluid can get sucked into the bore. Buell brakes generally bleed really easily. You want agita? Try an old Tonti framed Guzzi with integrated brakes and neglected Brembos. Ach! Got it working again its was like 5 minutes with the vacuum bleeder it worked wonders if you don't have one get one I saved my life. Thank you all for the help |
