Took the 96 apart because the last time I ran it, I swear I was hearing an extra noise. Turns out, I was indeed hearing a faint contact problem. The part of the shifter shaft that holds the shifter pawl is lightly contacting the backside of the clutch shell.

SO, the shifter shaft does have some wear to it, but nothing that raises a red flag. Is there something else I should be looking at?
