Am trying to create a stash of spares for my S1. In looking at the handlebar switches, it looks like the XB series uses the same as the tubers and I found only one 2009 comment about compatibility in the archives.

Just wondering if anyone have any problems physically fitting the XB handlebar switches to the tubers 7/8. I have small hands so I will cut off that little button inside the housing so I can rotate it on the handlebar. I have no problems working on the electrical side as long as I can get the correct connectors.

XB and tuber (post-S2, anyway) all use 7/8" bars. You may run into having to change throttle grips...or you may not, since Traction grips worked on all late tubers and on XBs, so the tubes may/should be the same, along with the cables.

So I should have no problems getting both handlebar switches, start/stop, lighting, turn signals, etc., from an XB bike and using it on my S1? If outer appearances are any indicators, they all look the same to me.

The switchgear on my S3 is straight up CEV stuff from Moto Guzzi 850T3 or convert /G5. I have no idea about wiring harness but how difficult can Italian electrics be? That is just a source for you late 70s to late 80s Italian
