Anyone ever replace the metal/rubber rear brake line on an X1?

mine is a 2001? it looks like I'll lose the brake light switch, so I'd need to go to a conventional switch or maybe something like this.

hydraulic brake line switch

I needed to change the rear pads and always have a hell of a time bleeding that line for some reason. I've rebuild the caliper and the master cylinder.

I have to believe that a straight line would be easier to bleed. Not they I use the rear that much, but it is nice to have.

I have changed my rear brake line to braided SS. I used a standard pressure switch and it works well.
I've used the pressure switch/banjo bolt like in your picture on my friend's KTM bike when we "made it street legal". It works great as well.

Thanks, did you run the line along the top of the swingarm or did you go up and over like the stock setup?

I used the same path as the stock line.
The reason I changed it is because the CrossRoads rearsets I installed relocated the master cylinder and the stock line was too short and it broke, spilling the brake fluid.
