Looks like they've used part of the gas tank. In the second pic you can see the oil lines headed up over the rear cylinder.

Maybe.

If you look closely in the first pic at the battery area you will see oil lines one going forward and one backwards. Look really good there is a small thin oil tank under the tank and seat maybe 1 to 2 inches thick.
My first thought was fuel tank also but looks like the original tank so how would that be modified was my question then i seen the oil lines!

Its a shame they went through all that and then didn't hide the battery.

I've never been a fan of white frames but that one seems to work rather well for me.

I've been jumpy for 2 seasons now to cut the tail off my S1. While when I bought it 4 years ago (wow its been a while) it was the most aggressive bike I had... Its now the most mild and meek looking. =\ I want to work some magic with it.

"I've been jumpy for 2 seasons now to cut the tail off my S1"

Foximus, I can't remember this conversation with you. No problem, come on over and I'll do it before the end of the weekend for you And, don't be jumpy, I've cut and welded before

BTW, I like the original bike posted and #3 for yours.

@ Dutch, thank you, probably one of your friends can read some of the articles on the Homepage.

@Rich , S1owner , The tank must be really small in this case, does someone know how much oil is necessary to keep the motor alive and healthy?

@Foximus , wild builds you did! a small lithium battery would do wonders to the S1

I hope we will get the solution :-D

Hehe. You probably wont believe it if I told you...

but it was this.

a Suzuki GS550L.

Not bad on hiding that suspension. Made it a full free floater shock.

Maybe the oil tank is incorporated into the rear of the gas tank. It looks like there are several hoses routed there from below.

Boehler - I have seen that "yes she can" bike many times and have wondered the same. I would like to modify my S1 to look that aggressive! Let me know what you find.

@ Fox When you get time how about some good pics of that?
I just cafed a 650 for a freinds wife
Here it is not finished I made the seat pan first time with the english wheel and planishing hammer

I do not think the oil tank is incorperated as it looks to be a stock tank but they also have a jeg oul cooler and a oil filter cooler on it so they are holding more fluid there!

S1owner - Would a S1 survive without an oil bag if the larger oil filter canister and oil cooler were used? How practical would that be? I love the look of a deleted oil bag!

Read my above posts
It has a small oil tank up under the tank and seat along with the coolers it should have enough.
Save the pics and enlarge them you can see the tank

No problem did not mean to jump out on that reread my post but yes its there I would worry more about air flow through the top end of the rear cylinder. And yes hiding tge battery would be great but where? Not much room left! I am sure someone could do it say can you kick start it

Thanks Ken, I came across another photo depicting the rear of the "yes she can" s1, there is no oil tank under the seat. I will see if I can upload it.

Ok thinkingbout load here for my winter build if I were to remove the shock and oil tank mount the shock on top and build an oil tank that copies the shock in the same location air flow would be great for cooling less distance for oil to go and better shock choice

The more i look at it the more i think its just a tank-cover , like the x1 tankcover,
The tank is no S1 tank, its simply too low.
look at the height near the tripletree, its nearly the same height. the s1 tank is some inches higher
The distance between the upper frametubes and the "tank"are too close.
So probably the Oiltank is located under this cover?

A.W.

Alex I think you are correct. Which means this bike has like a 1 gallon tank. Again looks over function.
