This can came on my "basket case" S2T (No.3000066) which I acquired this week. I am not familiar with it. I have to admit it sounds great, not too loud or raspy, but a low pronounced rumble.

Any guesses? D&D perhaps?

That is indeed a D&D. Just crawled under the S2 down in my basement to have a gander. And I agree. Nice sound when getting on it, but nice and mellow just cruising around. Constructed really well too.

Thanks Brian for the confirmation. I was planning on going back to stock for the restoration, but now I think I am gonna hang on to it, have it coated and put it back on after the restore. I like it.

Thanks again.

No problem.

Question. What is stock?

OEM Muffler (65275-94Y) probably no chance of finding one. I am planning on getting this S2 back to OEM condition or as close as I can get it anyway...

Stock for an S2 looks like any other factory tuber muffler, except that it has a straight inlet instead of an elbow.

I can snap a pic of mine if you like, but it'll be later today...

Thanks, that would be handy. I was thinking about modifying an OEM S1 muffler (I have in my shop) with a straight inlet, but I'm not sure if that would work or not and I haven't had a chance to take any measurements yet.

Is the S2 muffler stainless?

Ok, I didn't know if they were the big canisters or Supertrapp. When I got my S2, it had a straight pipe (!?!) on it. But Hogluvr was good enough to give me the D&D with the deal.

I have a D&D on my S1. It sure looks like a D&D. the riveted badge at the rear and the rear brackets look VERY familiar.
