Good evening all! Like many others, I hated the stock headlight's lackluster output and wanted to try an LED. I ordered aTruck-lite 27270c, and then machined an adaptor that would let me use the stock bucket, spring clips, and trim ring. It works, and although I'm unable to make many more, if any, I do have my blueprints and programs available... and of course, yesterday I stumbled across an anodized aluminium adaptor ring that looks as though it will do the same as what I'd made. http://motowheels.com/i-13578432-motowheels-headli ght-conversion-kit-ring-only.html

A bit pricey was my first thought, but if it works, it's probably justifiable to be able to see?

I did the truck-lite for my S1 and used an M2 bucket. Should work on a X1 as well. This might be the better option though if u can't find a M2 bucket cheap.

I looked at the light, funny it actually made more sense to me than some of the LED light designs that I have seen, the source is aimed back at the reflector, where the reflector will do some good.

If you can post up a night time shot say against a garage door or the like

it looks good, nice job

I'll attempt it. How far from the door are you thinking? I'm new to resizing pictures to fit the 103kb limit... most are still just a tad too large. Also, I did finally manage to get a couple posted of the muffler I'd crafted last August.

If you have a light colored garage door or wall, with a level run at, say 25' feet.

Please keep us posted on this head light,
If the led tech can stand the shaking that would be great as the HID lamps require a ballast, ( I put one on my X1, and it works ok )
