I really don't like those giant barrel hand grips on the S2.
Has anyone found a slim version that they like? I'm thinking along the lines of the basic size and feel of the old Buell Traction Grips.

It's going to be tough since the S2 has 1" bars, and every other Buell has 7/8" bars.

Check an HD catalog, if I recall correctly there is a small diameter accessory grip they offer, for smaller-handed people. If they have one that fits 95-earlier HD...there's your fix. A 96-up application can be made to work but the throttle grip needs some modification where it turns inside the switch housing, and where the cables attach.

A trip to the local H-D dealer is in order. I will brace myself for the culture shock. Would you like your grips in black or chrome, ha, ha.

The grips on my V-Rod (standard H-D 1" bars) have a smaller outer diameter than the stock S2 grips. I know I've changed the grips on my S2, but don't remember all the details. I believe I used the same grips as a V-Rod with little to no issues in installation.

Later model H-D's (as compared to S2's) do have reduced diameter grips,

The part you are looking for is an '04 or later Sportster grip set,you get a left side grip and a right side throttle sleeve with grip. They give you the same outside diameter as standard grips on 7/8" bars.I've been running them on my S2's since '04 and like them a lot. They are made of the same material as the stockers,so you'll feel right at home.

Thank you, gentlemen.
I'm getting the TPS reset on the Useless this Friday so I'll get some grips while I'm killing time.
