There is nothing better then jumping on a bike you put together with your own hands!!! I had many a night that I just sat back had a beer a looked at it and went back at it the next night. I think it taught me patients!! |

Yeah, I know the feeling you are talking about. But as the years roll on, I appreciate more and more just hopping on a bike and riding with darn near no maintenance. I just bought one of those new Honda CRF250L dual sport bikes to do some trail/off road riding. Gotta tell ya, its quite nice to just turn the key, push the button and go. |

Your S1 should be like that once you get it all screwed back together.
Just be sure to turn that damned petcock off when you park it and remember to remove the disc lock before letting out the clutch!
You'll only forget to do either one of those once... |

I'd put a new drive belt in while it's in bits as well or you might end up redoing most of this job again sooner than you wanted  |

Nice thing with a chain - when it's time to change it, the swingarm gets to stay where it is. |

All three mounts installed and links hooked back up.
I want to extend thanks to all for their help.
I especially am grateful for the tip about the all thread tool. I made one from what I had laying around, and feel without that, this job would have been nightmarish going back together. With the help of a transmission jack, ratchet straps and some fiddling, those six points went back together with very little drama.

+1 to what Steveford said....I have forgotten to remove a disk lock....ONCE!!!! as a spectator sport I am sure it was funny as hell!! the lock was in front of the fork so it got to make almost a full wheel rotation before reaching the stopping point....it quickly becomes a moment of "whatthehelljusthappenedtomy bodywhyamInotmovinganymorewhatisthepainaboutdonotd ropthebikedonotthrowuponbikedonotpassout"...yeah you only have to go through that once! |

Luckily, you body cushions the bike from damage but you don't have a whole lot of leverage from that position... |
