I routinely get 6+ years out of HD batteries.

My Uly still has the battery it left East Troy with in '06.

I put a battery in my S2 in...what...05/06 I think. And the one in my S1W may be 05 as well.

Politics be damned, I want my bikes to start when I thumb the button. Much as it sucks...HD has good batteries.

@purpony I have personally used quite a few brands of batteries. And half of them have no warranty! I sell batteries for cars, trucks,rv and deep cycle. And my own dealer-wholesaler would not warranty a battery that was 7 months old. It was a expensive battery at $147.00!!! No warranty after 6 months and must have a receipt?!?
Wow....Well needless to say i won't buy there battery's anymore. I decided to look around and most places were way over priced! So i bought 3 batteries for my bikes, for a really good price and they came with factory 2 yr warranty-NO QUESTIONS! 2 of them came factory activated and needed no charging?? Well i plopped them into place and no kidding they worked. The melt codes on the battery's were 2013 so i was actually impressed. I did however put them on the battery tender just to make sure they were charged. They have free shipping.

+1 on HD batteries. Don't know who makes their batteries but they seem to last.

I've had good luck with the Odyssey (PC545MJ)batteries. a tad pricey (130), but I've at got 4 years out of them (I'm on the second), I live in the northeast , ride year round and often forget to connect the battery tender.

I'm trying a Shorai L-ION in my vintage bike (83 KZ750). The battery is around 2.5 lbs vs the ~10 of the stock one.

Dekka used to make HD batteries and I'd get 6+ years put of a HD battery although I've been told their current batteries have less plates than their older ones, whereas the Dekka's are still the same. Maybe they've got a new supplier.

I was a strong advocate of the Harley batteries for a long time as well, but I bought one last fall and it is dead already. Warranty was pretty much a joke, pro-rated for a year, meaning that if it fails after 6 months you would at best get half off the privilege of buying another junk battery.

I put the previous Harley battery back in (it has been on and off the tender for the last 6 months) and it is working fine for now.

I'm personally done buying Harley batteries for the time being...

Yuasa is another name that comes up pretty regularly in these threads.

Hey I give a good AAA+++ to (Batterymart.com) also. Great prices and FREE FAST shipping with some of the highest cranking amps I could find in a AGM type battery. These really spin the bikes over much better than the old batteries I have had before.

When I worked for Case/New Holland, we used their OEM batteries in our lab equipment. They were made by Exide, and just about bullet-proof. I wonder if a local Exide dealer has a battery to fit?

It is also worth making a $25 investment on a mini Battery Tender or similar product. Having the bike battery plugged in when not in use could easily double the life of the battery. Takes 30 seconds to plug or unplug.

I use Yuasa AGM sealed batteries and they last a long time.

I get them from Motorcycle Superstore.

I'm sure it helps that I use a Battery Tender if the bike will sit unused for a week or more.

yesterday I gave up and bought a new battery. I couldn't find an Exide dealer in my area, so I went and got an EXT-20 from Oreilly Auto. When I pulled my old battery out, it was the EXT-20 with a 2008 date code, so I figured 5 years was worth $100. The counter guy said a few tuner/import buddies run this batt in 4 cyl cars to save weight and make room under the hood
