I'm looking for a set of WP Roma forks for my 1991 RSS - Lost in the mail from Germany back to the states. If anyone knows of any other bikes that used the WP Roma in the early 1990's, I'd appreciate a lead,or better yet a set of the forks themselves. Please contact me at barbandwarren@gmail.com. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks, Warren

Easiest source would be a 1995-1996 S2 front end. They are later model Romas. They'll differ just slightly in the cosmetics. The lower legs got a bit more detail to them on the 95-96 fork.

Ditto for the front caliper. The Westwind would have PM marked calipers and the S2 would have the Pegasus logo. S2 is black anodized which would be wrong but, an anodizing shop should be able to strip the anodize for you.

The bars: same--S2 is as close as you're going to get. The biggest difference in my eyes is the finish. The S2 bars were made from nicer tubing than my Westwind. The Westwind bars show the draw marks from the tubing manufacturer where the S2 bars do not...or were polished more thoroughly.

Triples: S2 triples should work fine. The Westwind had very plain, machined triples.

Westwind:

S2:

Now, I don't want to get your hopes up but, the Romas on my RR1200 may be for sale. Somebody offline has potentially found a proper M1R fork for the Battletwin. If/when that pans out, I may part with the Romas. The top triple has handlebar holes drilled in it and the lower has some tapped holes in the face to hold the headlight.

I could potentially make you absolutely perfect reproduction Westwind triples if you're really wanting it but, they would be expensive.

This is the Roma on the RR as it sits right now:

Yeah, thought about buying the forks for me as extras, but didn't want to snag them for shelf stock since someone here needs them.... Yeah the stem bolt looks trashed!!!

Hi
you can use the S2 WP Roma forks but then you have to use the S2 caliper ( Or any other later Buell caliper ) AND the S2 340mm brake disc ( or any other later 340 mm brake disc )
The RS and RSS used european 40 mm caliper mounting and 320 mm brake discs!!
Where did you send the forks in Germany ? The forks are not that rare here, if you wish I can have a look to find a pair, I even might have an extra pair here in my parts department :-)
But the fastest and cheapest solution for you problem is to use a complete S2 frontend including fender, as you guess already the RSS fender will not fit without modification to an S2 fork.
More questions ? her is my personal mail
s.gschossmann@live.de
Good luck and best wishes
Basti
