Anyone worked out a simple way to use a put a petcock on one of the fuel injected fuel tanks? | ||

That is just what my friend had me do with the bike he is selling me. Its simple. I can take pictures. And get you a exact parts list. We went to the hardware store and bought rubber washers for the plug. And for the petcock. Reach thru into the gas tank with a wrench and tighten them. No leaks. Mine is not even super tight. You can spin it. The rubber washers are the trick. You have to figure a little sizing because of the thickness of the rubber and non custom nut thickness. You run out of threads if your rubber is too thick. I got lucky because my buddy had a thin nut to use inside the gas tank. | ||

It would be awesome if you could post pics and BOM. I am assuming this is for use with an OEM petcock? | ||

No, Kellen is using a Pingel Power-Flo petcock in 3/8 NPT. Fit perfectly in the larger hole. | ||

Ok, I think I envision this...then the nut would be the normal metal and nylon thing that you use with a Pingel, right? | ||

I believe it was...though Kellen would remember more than me. I do recall going to Ace Hardware to get something from plumbing because of the 3/8 NPT....forget if it was a rubber washer or the thin nut he was mentioning. Pingel also makes adapter plates, but this was really easy without one. | ||

I used short bolts with the heads on the inside and nylon washers under the heads to plug the fuel pump holes, then drilled a hole at the low point behind the rear head and in front of the battery for a M2 petcock. No leaks for about five years now. | ||

Just ordered the Pingel for this trip - Once I confirm it works, I will be repainting the Frog bodywork for a nice set for Veronica. I'm nervous just having all those DNF Green parts in the garage...they say the color attracts gremlins. |
