So checking VOES on S-2 here and when hooked to a vacuum pump it slowly bleeds down. Manual gives no test for it. Any input?

You got a leak somewhere, if not in the hoses/connections then in the VOES itself? Mebbe try another VOES?

I tried another on a little newer M-2 and it did same thing----

There are two tests in the S1 manual, but you're right, nothing about maintaining vacuum:

1) Timing mark method.
Watch the timing mark with the engine idling, then disconnect the VOES hose, temporarily plug the manifold fitting and observe the timing mark disappear as the RPMs decrease. Reconnect the VOES and observe engine speed increase to previous RPMs. If RPMS do not decrease and increase, then check wire from VOES to ign module.

2) Ohmmeter and vacuum pump method.
Remove VOES, connect its leads to ohmmeter leads. Connect vacuum pump to VOES fitting. Meter should read open. Apply 5.0 - 6.0 in. vacuum and meter should indicate 0 ohms (switch closed). If more than 6.0 in. required to close switch, replace switch.

Don't know if S2 specs may be different but if it passes the first method, I would think the VOES is good. Waddya think?
