As of now I plan on making this event. I have a 16 month old daughter so plans are always in flux. |

I'm trying to convince a co-worker to join us with his s2t...I rebuilt it for him last year and it needs to get out on the road. |

K12pilot, I got it now... THAT is a GORGEOUS bike! I keep looking at that exact same bike. Three things keep me from pulling the trigger. 1) 30ish mpg. 2) Not sure about those expandable bags. 3) I'm too cheap to spend the money! EVERYTHING else about the bike really grabs me. On a level almost as strong as the S2. So how are those bags? |

Thank you. 2k miles on a long wknd on it easily. Much better than S2 bags for sure, but not as pretty. Never lost gear on the highway. Lol Not the greatest looking, but they hold a ton, & waterproof. Easy on easy off. The Corbin made trunk & seat are great also. Pull the trigger!!! I love it. Smooth & FAST!! They are all over & pretty reasonably priced. Are peeps booking rooms yet?? Ride safe, Chris (Message edited by k12pilot on May 14, 2013) |

K12pilot, I just checked. So far I'm the only one with rooms reserved under the "S2 Rally" block of rooms. Mike |

Newmans3, As K12pilot said, you are definitely welcome to join us. The annual S2 rally is about the S2 and their enthusiasts. However, everyone is welcome, no matter what they ride. I'll add you to the tentative list of those considering attending. |

Ok, I'm Booked in. Unfortunately, At this point, I don't see the PMX making a debut at this time, RSS is a slim chance, but Stella is awakened and being prepped for some carving. FYI. So, I got to to talking with the young lady at the desk, no food or grog at the hotel. Closest real food is 5-10 miles to downtown, she said that there were…. "plenty o troopers w nothing else to do between here & there" (Message edited by k12pilot on May 28, 2013) |

K12, Sorry to hear about the PMX, and RSS not being able to make it. That would have been cool! I didn't realize that I hadn't put food plans on here yet, so here is the rundown... The motel has hot breakfast food with their continental breakfast. Or, at least thats what they told me... There is a Pizza Hut next door that I figured on ordering a bunch of pizza from for Friday night. And, I figured on picking up a cooler full of local brew (Straub's), and some soda's to go along with it. Lunches would be pick up enroute. Saturday night I figured we could go into town (2 miles maybe, but with lights it could take the 5 minutes that the lady at the front desk mentioned). There is a restraunt/bar that had a pretty good menu and seemed kind of cool. The name of the place is "Gunner's", and you can pull it up on the web. I rode a few of the roads on my way through this weekend on my way to Summit Point. I had to cut it short on the return trip though. I had the crank seal go out while in VA. So I had to baby it home. Now to put in a new seal... |

Shoulda looked me up...I'm not far from Summit Point, and I'm fairly sure I have a crank seal in the garage... |

How long do those seals generally last Joe? I just put one in about 4yrs ago. Then again, that was around 50K miles... |

I did one as PM when I thunderstormed the S2. Other than that...I can't recall ever *having* to do one. Wait. I had to do my 96 flhp at about 70k. |

That will be the second one that I've done. It just seemed excessive to me... Not that it's THAT bad to do. I just would have thought something like that would last longer than it has. |

Make sure the crank journal isn't scored, and that the seal OD sits in a smooth bore. Nicks and scrapes will kill them quickly as well as having the seal either too deep or too shallow in the seat. Using the incorrect tool to install it can also decrease lifespan. |

Well, I REALLY hate to do this! But... I'm going to have to CANCEL the S2 Rally! I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I found out Friday afternoon that my position at work is being eliminated in a few weeks. So, I really need to take that time to figure out where I go for the next stage of my life... Sorry again! |

Buffalobolt (Mike) A lot of us have been where you are now heading. And some of us more than once My suggestion...take the trip. You may just find someone within that group of riders that knows about this job or that person that can change your life. This trip may be the answer you need to find. Best wishes to you. |
