2002 M2 did some electrical work now neutral light is staying on constant.

ideas of what to check ??

The neutral light is one wire to a switch on the tranny. Shorting it to chassis ground turns on the light.

What electrical work did you just do?

Well, at the risk of stating the obvious, back track what you did. You might have accidentally grounded the neutral switch. It lives behind the transmission sprocket.

The quick check is to unplug the wire at the neutral switch. If the light goes off, the problem is the switch. Light stays on, the problem is as others have mentioned - the wire is grounded somewhere.
