What is the difference, if any, between an S3 shock and an S1 shock?

Earlier ones were 16.5"
Later ones were 15"

Not sure if the S3T had a higher spring rate than M2/S1/X1...

Isn't it down to the year and not model?

On a side note Mike, if you are working on identifying a Works or Penske, I call dibs! LOL

The S3T did have a higher spring rate then the M2/S1/X1. Also on S3T the preload at the minimum is about right for 190 lb. rider. On the M2 preload at the minimum is about right for 160 lb. rider. When my M2 shock blew I bought a new S3T shock and I like it better.
