Author Message   Wesley_m2cyclone Posted on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 - 03:20 pm:        hello my names Wesley I am first time user of the site and had a question about a 97 cyclone I found on Craiglist. The bikes in really good shape but I will be riding 2 up on the bike and it has a rear shock that im not firmiliar with..I think its a showa??? not sure though..just wanted to make sure it can handle the extra weight because I have heard bad things about them before.. also are there any after market replacements for these bikes that doesn't cost an arm and a leg if it cant handle the extra weight? any other major problems I should look for on the bike before the purchase is finalized??? thanks for the info guys   Rick_a Posted on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 - 04:30 pm:        Adjust the preload accordingly and it'll work just fine. The skinny eyelet Showa is the only one that had any real issues, and only on later bikes with the lighter flywheels. Around here it runs $350 - 450. Almost the price of a whole new shock. As far as common problems, find out from the seller if they know about recalls done, rocker-cover gaskets replaced, intake seals replaced, fork stem greased, transmission oil changed. Is the rear belt tight or loose? (Should be loose!) Good bike, M2.
