Is anybody using one of the shock kits to convert to a conventional style shock?

I was thinking about making one and was wondering if it was worth the effort. Or if I should fork over the cash for a penske or ohlins.

looks a nice kit at first, but i see two points that really should be double shear....first on the long rod at the shock end, second the rearward shock eye.....

weird.
Onespeedpaul! 'shear' like things that get cut off on impact right? I agree, pretty expensive sacrificial parts.

That was one of the things I was going to change.
I was wondering if it performed well or if it was just another show piece.

double shear refers to a pin or mounting point supported on two sides which requires double the shear force to break the pin.
