Hey. I think part of my misfire issue could possibly be from my S2 still having the old style fuel tank vent valve. Could this be a likely possibility?

If so, obviously with Buell being done I most likely wont be able to find the recall kit to fix this. Does anyone have an alternative part number or way of doing this fix? Thanks.

The other tubers use the same vent assembly.
From '02 X1 parts book.

p0107.8 valve
p0114.8b 90 degree vent tube fitting
p0106.8 o-ring

remove the vent valve and go for a test ride. If it is the problem then your problem should go away.

Oh cool! Thanks so much! I will try and remove the valve and see what happens.

You could still have the recall performed at an H-D dealer that is a Buell Service dealer.

If you want to test and see if that's the problem, here's what you do:

Ride it. Let it start to misfire. Then, pop the fuel tank cap lever so the cap un-seats itself from the tank and releases the vacuum inside.

If flipping the lever fixes the misfire...you've got a plugged vent : )
