My front motor mount has broken on one side and ruined a bolt on the other. Clearly these need to be extracted and a new part found. Is a used one off ebay like This , or a new one off american sport bike better for the money?

The American Sport Bike version is almost break proof.
The thing you need to be concerned about after you get the bolts out is the surface of the head.
Both faying surfaces of both bosses must be flat and in the same plane or you will continue to have problems regardless which mount you use.
I'll bet that when you get the old mount off you will find that one or both surfaces on the head will not be flat but kind of rockers from top to bottom.

I bought my mount from nhrs and it is almost identical to the American Sport Bike one. The nhrs one claimed to have a warranty against breaking. Based on seeing it, if it breaks I've got bigger problems. Probably wouldn't hurt to look at your rear isolators and the front isolator as well. In my opinion when these isolators get some wear on them they put lots of stress on the already weak factory motor mount.
