Curious to know how your old tubers do at higher speeds 90mph or so? I've got a 99 S3T, so fuel injected. I normally average 48MPG in the city, I can pull 55MPG if I cruise at 60MPH. Recently went on a trip and got as low as 36 MPG on one tank. This was at about 90MPH though. Are these motors just fuel hungry at that speed, or is there something wrong with mine?

I've got a D&D exhaust, everything else is stock. Always run 92 octane.

On one of my '99 S3T's I often get 65 MPG at 70-80. 66K miles and runs great!

I get as low as 40 and as high as 65mpg depending on my speed. Most often around 46mpg just puttin' around.

Remember that drag from air resistance increases exponentially. Also at the high loads experienced at 90 mph it may be dumping extra fuel to keep components cool.

Most I've ever pulled is 55 mpg at sixty. If I go over it starts to drop on me. Is there anything you guys can suggest to keep it efficient to 80? I also have a zg touring screen, and usually duck behind at those speeds.

You could change your gearing for lower rpms at 80 either with a Baker six speed or different sized pulleys.

Speed costs money how fast do you want to spend.
