Took a ride with a friend today to Tortilla Flats @ Canyon Lake AZ. today . Road is quite rough but the twisties are fun. The first time I have been anywhere on my Buell except work and to chase parts.
The heat from the head seems to be subsiding as I put some miles on it.
The down side is my front drive sprocket seal is leaking now, That is the only thing I didn't take apart YET. I got to go buy a socket to fit it. I have the seal but didn't have the socket. This thing is fun even for an older Fat guy.

I really got to finish those fenders, I just don't like it without em..

I ran my trans vent and the head vents into the same can , you suppose that is why it leaks now? It didn't leak before that. I will still change it but was just thinking it may be too much pressure? The can is vented so I wouldn't think so but?
Mark

I doubt the can is causing pressure issues with the trans or the engine.

But, your drive sprocket seal issue may be associated with a too tight drive belt. Make it "scary loose" or someday you'll have trans issues like bearings to deal with.

That is what is in it now. It says for race use only. I just got my cable and ecm spy setup Saturday need to reset the TPS and lighten up on the cold enrichener a bit. It struggles until it warms up and it stumbles a bit around 2500 rpm. Plugs are too black for being new with less than 200 miles on them. And it didn't pass emissions. I got some more work to do as the oil leak turns out to be rear upper pushrod seal. It pushed out a bit and is letting some oil by it.

Nice collection of bikes there. The SV and ZRX are fine machines!

If it didn't leak before the change, change it back! Then reassess...
Looks great in the great outdoors.

That is probably one of the most fun rides near Phoenix. I keep hoping they re-pave the road soon, because it is in pretty bad shape these days.

Did you keep going past Tortilla Flats? We call that the "fast section" and it continues for a while longer before the road turns to dirt.

You have a sharp looking bike!

I wanted to but the water was running over the road and I didn't want water in places too hard to clean. I have been on this road many times and it is really getting rough for sure. Are you in Phoenix area?
We have a small group that meets at Chases Diner on the first monday of the month, Alma School and Warner.

Smart move on not crossing the water. The road is "sketchy" to say the least in that area, and it wouldn't be much fun to dump the bike there.

I am in Phoenix and have been meaning to go to the Chases Diner get together for a long time... I think it's about time to finally go.

P.M. me and I will give you my phone number and e-mail if you want. I also like to go to First Friday downtown Mesa if you are interested. I have a few numbers of the people who go to Chases and text them when I go for a ride if you have an interest. Hard to find people to actually ride. :-)
