I'm going to be doing some long road trips on my m2 this summer.. and I was thinking about getting a mount for my phone and an outlet for a charger so I can use GPS if needed.

Anybody already done this?.. I'm just curious to know how you did it!

Thanks

Yes, I did it last summer. I bought a 12v cigarette socket kit with inline fuse going directly to the batter. Mounted on the bars next to the brake. This might even be the same company here;

Worked very well. I actually got a water resistant case like this;

to hold my car GPS because I'm too cheap to get a good motorbike one. The mount was not quite right to I adapted it to a Ram Mount like this (but much cheaper);

I preferred the cigarette adaptor since it allows me to charge all manner of devices and/or heated vest etc etc. I was actually thinking to add a second one near the rear so I can charge things in my tail bag / phone / ipod / camera charges. I hate using a tank bag, but that would work as well with a mount up front of course. Good luck.

No worries and glad to help. You won't regret it. I love how the GPS gives the confidence to go off the beaten path and taking the long way to a point of interest without fear of getting lost. My GPS also shows where I can get fuel and so forth - obviously not foolproof but sure goes a long way to peace of mind and finding roads not necessarily well travelled!
