Hey Folks,

Can anyone tell me which silver XB Lightning forks my X1 headlight brackets will fit? Would like to keep my headlight and flyscreen mount.

Looking for silver so I think the later models and 1125Cr are out and I want use my handlebar clamp to keep my dash so will need Lightning top trees etc. so Firebolts and 1125R is out.

I'm aware there's a fair amount of effort(either counterboring or spacer fabbing) to get Lightning forks & trees to fit an X1.

Thanks!
Nels

03-04 are silver and the same diameter as stock X1 forks.

First, S1 folks want X1 forks. Then, X1 folks want XB forks. Next, I wonder what XB folks want :-)

lol, i wasnt the first, or the second...

- now that i say that, let me double check- The XB forks do neck down, i just dont remember exactly where. Ill measure them tonight along with my X1 forks and Headlight mount and verify that for you.
The 03-04 forks though at the same diameter as the X1 forks though. 05+ went larger.

Also, if you dont have someone to counterbore the parts for you let me know. Now that i have the capability at work i can offer this service. Could also powdercoat them if thats something your interested in.

XB folks want 1125 forks, 1125 folks want 1190 forks... : )

Marc, thanks for checking. I want to say that my Cr forks are the same OD in the headlight area as the X1 but don't recall. In either case they're black so won't do.

Will definitely let you know about the counterboring. I need to acquire some forks/trees first. I've got access to do the job but there's value in having someone who's done it before.

so... X1 forks where the brackets mount measure 2.120". My 03 XB forks in the same area measure 1.950"

the X1 headlight bracket is somewhat hard to get a measurement on (i have the bolts completely tight, but the clamp area are slightly out of round since it not clamped around a round fork....

measures 2.035", 2.025", 2.062", 2.072"...

So i would say, to make the X1 headlight bracket work on the 03-04 XB forks, you would need to line the bracket with some rubber to take up the space

Have tried all combos. The x1 triples fit 03 xb forks. although they don't line up. to make them work they stick up making you use either clip ons or risers. By setting them up this way you are also lowering the front of your bike. The x1 headlight bracket is too big. It does work however with old innertube rubber folded between the brackets. pain in the ass to do and make it look nice but it is doable

Ok, so I'm going the route I think Marc did and will swap out the X1 forks and trees for XB Lightning forks/trees understanding that counterboring and reusing the X1 steer tube is required.

From Marc's measurements it seems the '03-04 forks are just slightly smaller OD than the X1 headlight brackets and requires a slight shim to make it fit.

Are the larger later model XB Lightning forks too big for the X1 brackets?

Thanks!

that i cant answer.. ask the later XB guys what the diameter is of 05 to i think 07, and then they went bigger in 08 maybe... forks....

is they are 2.12 or just slightly larger, go with those year forks, just make sure you get the correct year triples
