The fifth annual S2 Rally will be held June 21-23rd 2013, in St. Mary's, PA, among the Allegheny Mountains. St. Mary's is in North-West Pennsylvania. Right in the middle of... Nothing! Except millions of acres of State and National Forests! Much of the route's will be in and along these forest's. Many of these roads are listed in motorcycle touring publications such as the AMA's "Ride Guide to America", or internet site's such as www.motorcycleroads.us/regions/pa_allegheny.html The host hotel will be the the Comfort Inn in St. Mary's (soon to be changed into a Holiday Inn). A block of rooms has been set aside for us. When you call to reserve a room (814-834-2030), tell them it is for the "S2 Rally". Many of you will likely be asking "Hey, wasn't this supposed to be in NY this year?". It was... Ebutch wanted to do the ride in the Finger Lakes area near Corning, NY, and I promised to help him with it. With no-one able to contact Ebutch, I took it on by myself. I was unfamiliar with the area, so I did some exploring. While scenic, and many attractions to see and do, I wasn't over-excited with the roads, or traffic. So I decided to look at other destinations. I was familiar with roads about 70 miles south-west of there from roads I drove as a kid (and still like taking) to roads used on BRAG rides (Remember those???). Hence, the change to its current location... I'll post more items up as I get them. But, I wanted to get this out to you so that you have time to plan your vacations around this. Rex, Go for it! It's only 2-3 hours from DC by interstate! Joe, Bring that ole S2 up here! Decent ride for you as well. It's no WV run, but it should be good! Ed, Sorry to hear that! Hopefully we'll see each other next year(2014). Anyone know where that will be yet? Scott, It's always great to meet S2 riders that I haven't met yet (...and see old S2 friends!). Come on up! A nice ride out of Winchester! 50W to 219N will get you there... | ||

Jaci and I send our regrets and best wishes. Its almost within reach but we have a wedding on July 6th that's taking up both time and, more signficantly, money, as our parents are taking the position that they only have to pay for our weddings the first time around. Interesting, now that I am living in Stowe, this could be a possibility. Except both of my S2s are in storage in Minneapolis. I hope the house sells quickly and easily and I can get those bad boys out here before spring. | ||

Mtjm2, While it is an S2 rally, all Buell's are welcome. Heck, all bikes are welcome as far as I'm concerned. While we are celebrating the S2, I doubt there are any S2 rider's (at least that I've met so far) that have any issue's riding with anyone that appreciates two wheels, and like's to ride... | ||

Well, in that case maybe I will commit. I may or may not have the S2 rideable enough to make the trip by then, but I have a few other Buells I could ride if it's not done. I don't think anyone would kick me out if I showed up on the RS  | ||

As far as I know, in the history of the S2 gatherings I have attended, what you ride there is of no consequence. It's all about appreciating the beauty and history of the S2 Thunderbolt. I have seen Kawasaki's, Triumph's, Bmw's, Honda's, and Hardley's. We don't care what your riding, as long as you appreciate what we're riding.  | ||

Just found out this is the same weekend as Thunder in the Valley in Johnstown, PA. May create a schedule conflict for me. Might just have to go to Thunder on the Buell then ride over to see you guys for the day. | ||

Why not bring everybody down to Johnstown for a visit on Saturday? V-Max owners group is headquartered out in that area and they always have a nice turnout with some pretty wicked modded out bikes. It would be pretty neat to get a whole line of Buells parked in one area at an event like this. I go out there every year. Some friends of mine actually bouhgt a house out in Johnstown and so we have free lodging. By free I mean we go out for work details and have been helping out with fixing the place up. | ||
