I took my bike apart several months ago and have just got it back together and it doesn't turn over/crank. I can hear the two solenoids and the starter has power.

Thoughts on whats wrong so far:

Their is a extra wire near the rectifier Code, which as I remember was their when I took it apart. does anyone else have this?

My second thought is the starter does not have enough wires going to it. On mine their are only two connected to the power but the manual mentions 3. I think the third is the one located on the bottom right side of the stater. Is this the way it is for you guys?

As I remember, without looking, 1 wire was a ground to the reg. and the other went to the oil sender. That is if your talking about wires near the volt. reg.

Hey seth, have you checked your ground to the bike, voltage of the battery, and are any of the wires damp perhaps? I had the same problem, turned out my battery wasn't putting out enough juice to crank, but just enough to engage the starter.

Looking at your picture, you can see that the wire to your oil pressure sending unit is missing. I see that it is the green wire with yellow stripe that is sticking out of the harness, and I believe that is the wire that connects to the oil pressure sending unit (I don't have my manual in front of me at work to verify, but my recollection is that this is the oil pressure sending wire).

Take a look at your picture (or bike) and from the picture look to the left of the rectifier and you will see the oil pressure sending unit with a 90 degree electrical connector and no wire connected. If you pull this connector off, you will see that the post is also threaded, so you could put a ring terminal on it with a couple of nuts (that's what I did when mine started to break). Unfortunately, I don't remember the thread size off the top of my head, but it is a common size.

Not sure if this will upload, but hopefully it will. I have circled the oil pressure sending unit and pointed it out along with the electrical connector mentioned in my previous post.

Thanks Devil car, I was thinking that the connection got broken off from their, but had no real reason to believe it. I started have grounding through parts and trying to trace down the short. The starter motor unit(part that engages the gear) has ~12V, but at the connection between the engager and the electric motor connection their is ~0V to the ground of the battery. The next step I have time is to connect ground through all the switches and see if it won't start, but this seem rather futile, because the relays are clicking.
