I am finally getting around to rebuilding my 2000 Buell M2's CV40 carb. The M2 has a Forcewinder Intake and a V&H exhaust. I think I am set on the 45 for the one jet and on other I was thinking about the 200?

Any suggestions or help would be great.

As always thanks for you help. And lets keep these tubers alive!

Shim the needle about 50 thousands and don't go any higher than the 200 on the main.Maybe 190 to 195

you are in seattle yes? that is sea level.
use the jet you have as a baseline and multiply * 110 or 10% richer. As I recall a 42, 185 or 190 was the range my S1 fell in.

Cyclone Charlie is right just thought I'd mention. My stock pilot jet was very lean, I would use a 45 or 46 pilot jet to get to 46 I have to drill them out, but you might be able to get one. No richer than 46in pilot. I also recommend useing a bobby wood K1 needle if you can get one, no performance gain but really good gas mileage

There are 46 jets available for purchase online. I'll see if I can remember who mine came through.

The 45 has worked well in my 2000 Cyclone, actually bought the 46 before I rebuilt my carb, it needed the rebuild, seems okay with the 45 again, but I'm probably gonna play with it anyway.

The 45 is readily available at the dealership or through just about any aftermarket dealer.

www.cv-performance.com

"American made parts for American made motorcycles"

They are where I got my 46 jet. These guys have a handy kit, in case you've lost the tiny little washer, o-ring, or spring for the a/f mix screw too. The easy adjust idle mix screw is nice to have, I got a similar one from another company some years ago and think it's convenient.

I'm running the 200 main, but I'm also at nearly 5000 feet here in SLC, UT.

your air pressure would be about 27? here where i am in AU it's mostly around 29 but have seen it as good as 31.
when i was drag racing my bike & it reached 31 everyone was having jetting issues we all needed to go richer & trap speeds went up too as good air. thats why 45 works for you, prob 195 mj, the thing i like about the woods modified CV44 i have is it uses mj's that increase in 1 thou increasements so can jet very fine i've also got a 57 pilot jet in it as would not run with a 55 after i had motor done & heads done, might sound very rich but its jetted perfect & plugs look like EFI bike. reason it runs big pilot is the carb air bleed hole is resized, so the pilot works to a higher rev than stock b4 the mj comes in.
70mpg in country

I'm running a 45 pilot, 190 main. Non stock air intake (S&S with foam filter), straight pipe. As littlebuggles mentioned I also got the EZ mixture screw and the EZ idle screw, love them!

Lakes,

We are currently at 30.14.

My M2 started life as a California model, was lean and over heating on the interstate here in UT, dealership rejetted with the 200 and shimmed the needle with a V&H clip type needle and it got a lot better. I added the 45 jet when I did the intake and exhaust.

30.14 Wow that's good air!
my friend in mountains 300km out of Sydney told me it's around 26 out there.

I need one of those EZ idle mixture screws!!!! can't seem to get at mine as the frame makes it hard to line screw driver up

i'm leaving @ 4.30am to ride down the coast for few day's can't wait to get on the road again & just ride till reserve cuts in! or it stops LOL
