I want to make my 97 M2 louder. Before I spend $600 on a drummer I'm thinking about taking a 1-3/4" hole saw to the rear of my stock muffler, while its still mounted, on the opposite side of the current stock outlet, on the side of the can. Or maybe start smaller and make it larger later.

From what I read I might loose some low end torque, which I think I can deal with, but I have only found a few posts on this- not sure what that says.

Is it going to sound like shit?

Would I need to add a pipe for the outlet? If I didn't what would be the consequences?

Anyone have some first hand experience on this?

If I remember right he says he didn't do a dyno test to verify performance. He left new outlet tube a little long to leave room for tuning and also made it so it can be capped. Supposed to sound close to stock if your not getting on it and supposed to sound nicer when getting on it.

I have some info he provided me. I really want to do this too but I'm waiting for you to do it and report back
