well my friend was making maps for a 113 twin cam EFI softail and told me when he finnished he would give my Buell a dyno run just to get the HP & TQ numbers as is before we put the SE bolt in cams.
i was very surprised as this dyno normally conservitive. it is a DJ 250i with load control & AFR. it made 92HP @ 6,500 78FT Tq started making good TQ @ 3,000 & held TQ up over 70 to 6,500 very flat broad TQ curve & HP climbed all the way with no dip. still had that 2" collector stock headpipe with Australian made polished stainless sport muffler Lightning ignitiom module SE big bore manifold Bobby Wood 43.5 Rebel CV carb Carbon air cleaner SE 1.73 ratio rockers Stock M2 cams heads cleaned up ported by my friend stock valves with three angle valve job on intake seats the barrels machined to get pistons to come up & get the Stock Thunderstorm pistons to work with Thunderstorm combussion chamber 40th swish clearance pump 98 octane gas.
now i have to run a high 11 second pass before my friend will fit the SE bolt in cams. not expecting a big gain with the cams but will wait see, just have to hone my skill at track. i'll have to hold rev at about 3,000 on the line & think about 1.7 60ft time should get me into 11's if i don't miss a shift.
love this bike its so much fun hard to beleave its almost stock. 74 cubic inch

If this is an international m2 you already have the SE bolt in cams.

I don't know much about the m2 but seems very strange they would use 2" collector pipe very tall gearing 3.2 final drive & SE cam. The first owner changed gear ratio to 3.6 final cam could not have the SE spec timing as motor got 215 pound cranking pressure looks like a stock sportster cam. My friend has a thunderstorm that came with SE cam EFI but will find out soon enough no problem.
Goody my friend normaly charges a lot for his dyno & tuning service. But I got the one run free no tuning at all as I had it.
But only way I can see is go to drag strip when you can look at your trap speed work out bike weight your weight & simple enough as long as you don't miss a shift.

Lakes all you have to do is look at the parts books: http://parts.drivebike.ru/fiche/browse/view?model= 5156&diagram=301457

item number 20: 25195-00YA CAM GEAR SET Complete w/pinion gear (AUS ENG EUR)

Now look at the X1 parts book on that site and you will see the same part number for all X1s.

On this page you will also see the AUS ENG EUR bikes all got 2 inch exhaust systems too: parts.drivebike.ru/fiche/browse/view?model=5156&di agram=301510

lakes read this post from hurricaneleah: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=47623&post=983449#POST983449
Your bike had B cams from the factory they are the same as SE 497 lift bolt ins and Andrews n4s. Some sets are marked 1b 2b 3b 4b and some are marked 15-1 15-2 15-3 15-4 depending on the year. Just trying to save you the trouble and expense of putting in what you already got.

Thanks so much for the info , I'll leave it as is, love it now was thinking the low end to mid range Torque is great now don't want to loose any as so sharp to throtle. Got a guy on a v rod on lights & hole shot him backed off at speed limit he went past still wide open lol

Did they give you a printout or a digital file of the dyno run?
I want to see that!

I have the print out, i might be able to take a pic of it with my ipad & e mail you?

the weather was very hot & humid, but the dyno room is well designed with big air duct & exh duct with big fan to take exhast out, sealed & sound proof air temp was 87F humidity felt high to me but would have to read print out
this is a certified Dyno Jet tunning center with DJ250i with load control, used 5 smoothing but had it set at STD not sure why but could always get him to convert to SAE but can't see a need as SAE weather is 77F and less humidity than on the day
TQ curve was very good went up stayed up in a long run.
i'm still not 100% convinced this has same cams as X1 as these M2's came new much cheaper than the X1 & dealer Dynoed X1 & M2 the X1 made more HP i personally have all Dealer Service bulitens to Australian Buell dealers & in one the Importing Dealer Morgan & wacker Dynoed both the X1 & M2 the X1 had more HP they did this as customers thought the X1 was less responcive than the M2 & older carb Bull's i'll will get all my service bullitens out & check. also a friend was in charge of all the Olympic HD's & Buell's used at the year 2000 Sydney Olympics. he still works for HD i'll ask him what he thinks too
but i'll pull the stock Cams out in a month or two & fit the new bolt in SE cams as can't hurt & they are new. then dyno & tune as think i could use a different Wood Needle i have & improve it also might get adjustable ignition when put cams in.

I, too, was under the belief that the international M2s had the X1 cams. My parts manual shows the International M2s had the 25195-00YA cams.

Regardless, those are great numbers!

I just found dyno test on EFI X1 v carb M2 done by Morgan & Wacker the Australian Buell importer M2 had slightly more hp & tq @ 3,000 rev then @ 3,300 the X1 takes over by almost 10hp & almost 10 ft tq
But on a dj150 mine was on dj250i & I made more of both tq & hp & much stronger smoother hp & tq curve I put it down to closer swish band & 1.72 SE rockers plus the valve job & head porting. But will be few months before I put cams in as have a lot of riding planned & have to run 11's quarter mile first & I'm 64 years old cheers

Your bike makes exceptional power for your combination. You are doing something right, no doubt. Great job. How do you like that Woods carb?

Thanks Maru, i had a friend with many years experience help. will put the SE cams i have in it maybe next week, will check out what the markings on cams that come out are. but most important , will check cranking pressure just b4 pulling heads off then check it again once the SE cams are in as that will definately tell me.
yes i like the Woods Carb if you get one tell Bob Wood what your set up is what you want he would tell you what best i think , but just guessing. the reason i like them is they work if you jet the right for your motor, & they get very good fuel economy.
i have the K2 needle in it now but needed to use 57 pj it's complicated to explane why the Wood carb use such big pj, but i think when i do cam change i'll put the K3 needle i have in & drop pj back to 55 & think that will be the right combination, will also see if need to drop mj but they use Holley jets so not metric # the mj increase & decrease in 1 thou so very fine jetting possible.

Thank's evreryone you where all right my M2 did come stock with the SE bolt in Cam, but wanted to make sure as have to lower cranking pressure. also was lucky we checked as one alloy ajustable push rod had been rubbing up the top of or top end of push rod cover & eventualy that qould break off i have the 1.72 ratio rockers. so will replace the four push rods with Chrome Molley ones & will have a set of Andrews N6 tomorrow just hope the 1.72 ratio rockers work without needing clearance or valve springs but will check that all out see how it goes . i loved it how it is but if i can't get the 98 octane it pings with 98 octane its fine. just want to play it safe the extra intake durration will drop cranking pressure.
also this bike only has the 2" collector pipe. strange how they put 2.5" & stock sportster cams in M2 USA & 2" collector & bolt in SE cams here my friend wondered why his stock M2 with 2.5" buell race pipe & white Brothers E Pipe was so quick & so much Torque

Lakes, some of our early M2's had standard sporty cams in them. Not sure what year they changed to the N4's but it was fairly early in the run.

I think M2's had the stock sporty cams up through 2000. I know my 2000 had them from the factory. They work well on the M2.

but i like the n6 i now have in it more mid range & top end & thats where i like it. but just found that out from riding it.
don't know if i got a hp gain as have not been on dyne or to the track but will eventually get there just not sure when
