Hello I bought my 2002 m2 9 months ago and have slowly found and fixed or changed small issues. The main problem I notice now is that the ceramic exhaust header is touching the frame and has actually started to make a groove where it touches. The bike has d and d exhaust and the header is after market also. The ceramic header is y pipe style with d and d slip on. I had the front engine mount replaced when I first bought the bike and from what I read my frame is notched so the new mount was installed from the top. What issues could be causing this that I haven't addressed? | ||

Can you more clearly describe exactly where the touching occurs? Or a picture, of course, is worth 1000 words... | ||

I would be willing to bet it is a fit up issue with your slipon exhaust. I ran into this problem with my M2. If you have to "lift" or "push up" on the slipon to get it to line up with bolt holes that is your issue. I'm willing to bet that your exhaust is rubbing on the frame where the exhaust tube from the rear cylinder head goes under the frame. Check your exhaust mounts, I think therein lies your problem. | ||
