What is the best brand/place to get gaskets for my top end? I am going to be replacing everything from base gasket up (so base gasket, head gasket, rocker box gaskets, etc.).

Also, does any company sell just a complete top end gasket kit made with quality gaskets? I dont want to spend all this time and end up with a leak from subpar gaskets.

Thanks,
Spencer

Cometic are good. The new, Cometic-like HD/Buell ones are good.

i just did all of my rocker box gaskets and believe it or not, the cheapest place i found them were from H-D themselves. Same was true about my new clutch cable as well.

I have used cosmetic and been very happy with the quality. That said, I just did my base gaskets up (like you) with HD OEM gasket set, high quality and they do not require O rings like the old head gaskets did.

Thanks guys it seems like the consensus is Cometic is the best.

Does anyone know who makes the HD OEM ones?

Also, does the cometic gaskets still use the O-rings like the old head gaskets or are they similar to the HD OEM ones?

Thanks,
Spencer

Sorry for being an acronym junkie:
HD = Harley Davidson
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer

So just ask for a set for an XL 1200 from your dealer. The lack of O rings put me off since the Book was adamant about the rings. Turns out HD did away with the need for rings with the new and improved head gaskets

Three piece commetic head gasket. Or James gasket kit as same thing now. It is possible to reuse this style head gasket if you had to.
I think only way to go
