Okay guys well Im about to pull the heads off my bike for powdercoating. I read a thread here that talked about the importance of proper installation for the front motor mount including new grade 9 bolts. Anyways, if I swap to a billet front motor mount should I take the heads by a machine shop and have the mating surfaces trued to match up? If so, how much would something like that cost? If I dont replace the motor mount I am thinking of just taping off the motor mount when I powdercoat it or having the whole thing done black so I dont have to worry about any problems with it mating back up right. Thanks, Spencer |

Mating is nice, but should not be necessary. New hardware and correct torque specs are most important. Also, it's a good time to replace the front isolator to the recall style (if not done already). The billet looks real nice, but I just powdered mine black..

Unless you broke the head I would just check with a straight edge and you should be fine. Do you still need an orange tail section? |
