I may sound stupid, but how do you guys clean the bikes?

My X1 that died after taking it apart it was full of much every where, although form the out side it looked pretty clean.

Thanks,

I use a hand mit and meguires car soap. And some fish tank tubing brushes. They work well for scrubbing the engine fins out. No high pressure water, only light garden hose pressure.

Simple green for all the motor and primary and all. Put it on use a soft bristled nylon brush to scrub then hose it off

Yes use simple green. A guy at the auto shop sold me some other brand (forget the name) and it stained all the casings. I had to polish the stains out, took forever.

S100. Others most likely won't agree, but it works perfectly for me every time and I like my bike spotless!

Follow the directions.

Thanks.

Here in Spain on my Uly i use a de-greaser a found on the supermarket, it's great and is not at all agressive to anything, and specially works wonders on the grim that the front brake rotor leaves on the rim, tried everything but this is like magic.

I wash the bike with a garden hose, spray it down wet first then spray with s100, then use a garden hose to spray that off, then mild soap for washing cars and water. no pressure washer and I follow up with the soap and water to ensure Ive removed any s100 just in case it has any damaging compounds...never had any issues with this process.

Starting out my engine was mostly black, now it's almost all black and I use tire spray foam to clean it and keep it looking good. I spray all the engine and cases down with a light coat and let it sit for about five minutes. Then I wash the bike like normal, garden hose and light auto soap and blow it all off with the compressor. The tire foam leaves everything nice and clean and black and keeps road grime from sticking.
