For those of you that have gotten rid of their flyscreens on their X1s, what did you do about the headlight bracket? Did you cut the flyscreen tabs off or build a new bracket? I didn't really want to cut it up in case I ever wanted to back.

If you did build a bracket how did you go about it?

I think there were some model year X1 brackets that had the tabs for the headlight and flyscreen as different parts held by the same clamp, seems like I was browsing my parts book recently and noticed that.

I can check my book again when I get off work in the morning and give you the model year and pn if my memory is not failing me.

It took me a while to get the guts to chop the tabs off. no harm in leaving them on, i just wanted a little cleaner look and figured if i wanted the screen back on id figure a new attach method or weld the old tabs back on.

I guess maybe I'll just have to suck it up and cut them off, unless littlebuggles finds something. I'll just chuck them in a box along with the flyscreen, handlebars and old dash.

Sorry for the slow response Ben, i went through my M2 and X1 parts books twice this afternoon and couldn't find that part in there. I wonder if I was mixing the XB line up with the tubers... but that makes me wonder if maybe there's a XB bracket that would work.

I'm going to look at my XBs book on that.

Littlebuggles, thanks for checking. I think m2s and s1s had two piece brackets but the fork diameters are smaller than the x1.

The S1 used a 2 piece bracket for the headlight; 1 for the light, and the 2nd for the flyscreen.

I want to believe that the fork diameter was the same between the S1 and X1.

The M2 definitely had smaller diameter forks so the M2 brackets would NOT work.

I think the S1 parts are what you are wanting,

On m2s the bracket holding the flyscreen just bolts between the forkears and the headlight bucket, so it doesn't matter what the fork diameter is, as long as the brackets will bolt up to the x1 flyscreen...I don't know

Cool, anybody have an s1 headlight bracket that they would like to trade for the one piece x1 bracket?

Other than the bubble being on the other side are the flysceens interchangeable?

In other words, if I send someone my X1 brackets will the S1 flyscreen fit correctly?
