If I don't go the XB rocker box route I need to put back together my breather setup. I noticed mine had what looks like two o-rings on them (see pic), two of which are wasted. The ones to the left I think are from a forcewinder setup. Are the ones that came off typical? Does anyone know what vendor sells them or where I can get the o-rings OR a better option for the bolts without the o-rings...

I forget the sequence, is it cylinder head, support bracket, crush washer, banjo bolt, crush washer? I don't think there is a crush washer behind the bracket that lays against the head, right?

Im sure a lot of folks have found the same thing I did...when I switched my S1w to the xb rocker boxes the bike breathed so much better that I can actually here it run smoother, and it seems a little more responsive, snappier response, plus, no leaks or blow by. I really recommend it!

When "i" went to the XB Head Breather System just went to Ace Hardware and got some bolts to plug the OEM breather holes ...

Sealed the bolt threads with Seals-All which they also sell ...

Don't want to beat a dead horse, but I want to be sure about what I'm purchasing. All I need is the XB rocker cover, with new gaskets, and the new top breather valves correct? I don't need the rocker box, right? So I'm swapping a 2 piece rocker cover with a one piece? Are the rocker boxes the same? I looked at American sport bike XB conversion kit & that seems to be all I need. Their new cost is $224, but I'm seeing used ones cheaper for like $80. I already the breather lines, T, vent and catch.

The bolts in the head are 1/2"-13. After being without a bike 17 days I finally got an exhaust stud repaired only to snap a breather bolt in two. One extractor later I went to the hardware store for a 1/2" bolt, and a 1/8" pipe barb and made my own. It's ugly as can be until I find the right banjo fitting.

wow! snapping a breather bolt in half, pretty hard to do. Glad you almost have it sorted out.
Can anyone comment on my question concerning the XB rocker covers? I'm looking to purchase.

I bought the full kit from Al at American Sport Bike. it came with the rocker box covers, gaskets and I think the bolts to plug the original style breather bolt holes which also mounted the air breather assembly. It also came with the top breather valves and the t fitting. I used the billet round one from American Sport Bike. then I bought the catch can set up from American Sport Bike as well. one stop shopping all from American Sport Bike. expensive yes, and yes the parts can be sourced from ebay if your patient. I wanted everything in a box, ready to go for a saturday afternoon job.

I hear ya Jolly and I think the covers are already polished so no cleaning up someone else's mess. i just hope my slight leak is from the rocker covers and not box.

mine were leaking at the second gasket down...I thought they were leaking at the top gasket...no such luck, pulled it down to the second gasket and they were shredded paper gaskets...of course I did the tops three times before realizing what was really going on. thats when I decided to do the upgrade kit. no leaks since!

one of the best mods to the S1W Ive done.
