My second gear jumps out, so I pulled the tranny to check it out. The drive dogs look good but the shifting forks look bad. Wear marks and burrs from rubbing. I am going to do the shifter drum modification but can not find the thread, help? Also I am going to buy new shift forks, any other things I should look for???

A recent thread found one of the pins that ride in the shift drum grooves was over-length.

Look for shift drum, or hard shifting. I recently did the mod. All you need are snap ring pliers, a torque wrench that will go to 250 ft lbs, standard tools. If you already have the trans out, remove the drum and have a machinist cut the shift pawl shaft right below the notch then have him tap it with a 10/32.
