Hi all, picked a couple more S3's this week to go with my '99. Am thinking I'll freshen one up and sell it on and turn the other one into an S1 lookalike.

here's some pics.

The new projects

Looks like you bored a bunch of holes in your derby cover around the outside of the seal.
Reminds me of:

Also, your wheelbarrow reminds me of this:

I was working on my bike and put the cover on the mower nearby.

Yeah the cover was going on my sporty but it landed on the Buell first.. On the sporty I was going to paint that section behind it orange, to match the middle rocker box piece but can't be bothered on this one

Now if we could just marry your mower and my barrow we'd be flying..

"I thought this thread was the start of a Joke... Three S3's walk into a bar...."

LOL

"Heres what I did to an S3T Made the lower work with a HD air cleaner.."

That's a good idea. I have a carbon race aircleaner but it would be too light to mount it to. I have one of Aarons early Hurricane backing plates that has a forward offset (to give knee clearance) but can take the normal sportster cover, not the Buell one. I could use one of my steel sporty ones and mount it to that, which means I could also get it painted to match. : )
Good idea, will keep that in mind, thanks for the idea.

Stev0: what kind of breather bolts? I like turning the hoses downward

Onahog - love the air cleaner, hope to put a canted sportster AC on my M2 some day just to mimick the RS1200 I dreamt of 20 years ago

G'day Coxster..

The breather bolts were just some I had layin around. they pivot inside the bolt, so you can spin them to wherever you want.

I'm not sure which ones I have in there now as I mounted the stock airbox over the Forcewinder.

Have been looking at different headlights as I had an idea what I'd like for the S1 lookalike I want to build with the other bits. ALthough it'll be black and orange with polished highlights and the polished PM wheels.

and then I saw this pic which is damn near exactly what I had in my head, wasn't looking at trimming the tailpiece quite as much as that but I was going to reshape it.

The guy has good taste .. LOL

that might be why I like it.. I was looking at grafting a Duc rear end on.

Was also thinking of trimming the S1 tailpiece back but not quite as far as that one is, as the whole ECM is exposed. That donor bike is an M2 whereas mine is an S3 and the ECM has the dual plugs coming in from the top. Am thinking of going to a nose cone ignition and carby so I can clean the wiring up and get rid of the ECM entirely. Will see what happens as I aquire more bits and things start to come together.
