So through my supplier I can order bushings for the shifter and brake levers. Since NRHA does not carry these anymore I figured I could get them for you guys.

These are High iron content and impregnated with SAE 30 oil. So not only are they stronger, but will be smoother and last longer than the ones that NRHS sold.

A set for both sides should run somewhere around $15, and that will include the 2 flanged bushings, and 2 thrust rings. Both are the high iron content, oil impregnated bronze. They will appear a silver color because of the iron content.

If anyone is interested I can go ahead and order a batch.

+1
If there are for the boomerang type shifter, 2000 M2 and older I would like one set.
American-torque has them on eBay for over $ 30.00 and list 2000 m2 and older they also list a set for 2001 and newer.

Looking at the x1 bushings, the brake seems to be the same, but the shifter side seems to be for a 1/2" shaft, and is a center split, instead of a flanged bushing with a thrust washer....

If I can get measurements to confirm I can get those as well. American torque sells the lower quality bronze as NRHA.

If someone can get me measurements of the shifter side for the X1 I can get a order put out for both sets. Right now I can only order the older style.

"Looking at the x1 bushings, the brake seems to be the same, but the shifter side seems to be for a 1/2" shaft, and is a center split, instead of a flanged bushing with a thrust washer"

That is exactly what is in my X1 shifter, both sides (inner v. outer) look exactly the same. Looking at it I don't know why a different style wouldn't work, as long as the inner dia remains 1/2" or only slightly smaller such as a flanged bushing as you mention.

I can post a quick pic if needed. Sorry for the delay, been a long work week for me.}

oke.

Anyway for a full count. Who would want some for old style, and who for New.

I'll make the order and try to get them in this week.

Post up after this with a +1 New or +1 Old.

On a side note. I may be in the works of having custom aluminum shifters made up. Think Banks, or Performance Race. Are there any types that you guys would like to see in production? I personally would love having the boomarang style, as I think it looks classy and vintage as hell... Price point would be somewhere around $200.

For the new Buell X1 shifter, all measurements are in inches per my harbor freight cen-tech 6" dial caliper:

ID of the bushing is 0.537"

Flange measures 0.185" from the id to the out side of the flange.

Total OD is 0.877"

Total depth, or thickness of the shifter measures 0.574" so half that minus a total 1/16" gap between the halves is the total stack height on the two equal sides with. I measure 0.673" outer face to inner face, might call it .672" though since one flange doesn't look like it's seated completely flush.

Couple other numbers, brass thickness measures .046", so flange uh, shoulder is approx 0.109" across.

They are pressed in, and cracked so I am hesitant to try and remove them, having no replacements and no Buell dealer in state. If these break I won't want to ruin the shifter running the bike without them... and I'm only an hour or so away from complete reassembly and having a bike again.

Sorry it took so long, what else should I measure?

-Mike

(if I've given enough info to source the bushings, I wonder how they compare to the M2's bushing set)

Tried to reply twice and keep getting a mailer daemon failure message.

Just shoot me one direct to littlebuggles at yahoo dot com and we'll see if it will get to me. I was concerned I may not be speaking the same language as you with regards to measurements.

Thanks
