With my increasing age, I am no longer comfortable riding in a semi sport bike crouch. Has anyone put handlebar risers on, and did you have clearance problems with the fairing?

You should a few responses from people who have used risers. I have not, but i have ridden a bike with Buell Blast bars fitted and it was quite a bit more upright so that may be another option.

Keep riding!

I could be wrong but, I'm almost positive that the S3T WAS equipped with Blast handlebars. You might just look into a pair of those. Everything should fit: wires, cables, windshield clearance, etc.

Cheap riser: get another handlebar clamp, and four longer bolts.

Put the new handlebar clamp *under* the bar, upside-down, raising the lower mount point about an inch.

Put your bars in it, and your regular clamp over top. Use the longer bolts to hold it all in place.

If you don't want to spend money on new stuff, just flip the clamp and use it temporarily to hold up the bars, and check for clearances, cable binding, etc.

Flanders makes a 2" taller handlebar for S3T. Works with stock brake line...just barely! That's what I have on mine.
