Is there a difference in 97 98 M2 forks & 00 02 M2 forks or are they all useing same forks? or is axle sizes different?

Not sure on fork diameter (where the trees clamp them down), but the axle should be the same since every tuber wheel will fit any tuber.

They should all be the same front ends except for the 01-02 Low models that have shorter springs and tubes.

I'm not 100% sure, but when I bought my '99 M2, I remember one brouchure point saying they beefed up the fork to 43 mm or whatever it is. I don't know if that means the 1998 was less, but FYI.

If you look at, say, American Sport Bike parts for M2s, the early ('97-'98) and late ('99-'02) models use the same: fork springs, RaceTech Emulator Valve, bushings, oil seals, dust seals, oil drain plug washers. So the must be the same diameter. If there are any differences at all, they must be pretty minor.

The reason this comes up is, some parts places list things only for the early years, don't mention the later years at all. So one needs to be confident any parts for the early will fit the late. So far it looks true.
