Well finally got time to fit the new Tach & billit mount i got. used a genuine wireing loom ( just a simple plug in. when i turned on ignition, everything works, just instument lights don't seem to be coming on. any ideas? can the small globes be changed?

do you still have the original light in your Speedo?

Coxster, No i got a wiring loom compleat with the tach and speedo lights off e bay. thats why i ask if globes can be changed as if they screw out i'll change them. have not started bike yet as gas tank still off the bike but speedo shows miles & trip when i turn key just not gauge lights come on.

Make sure the wire for the light ( can't remember pink or orange? ) on the Tach has 12V.

thanks so much, i found problem, the guy i got bike from had fitted a cheap little tach and pulled factory wiring from the plug. to wire direct to the little tach. i did not check this & when i plugged in was no connection for tach other side of plug fitting so i'm tracing the wired found the pink & the black wire where he joined have to get those wireds into the plug fitting, there is another red wire that i have not located where he joined it too it's red from the little tach, not sure what factoy clour wire it goes too. i have a work shop manual just hard to follow in black & white.

Well, had a lot of playing around, first found guy i got bike off had pulled stock tach wires out the plug fitting, bike did not have a tach still the wires that are there from factory if an accesory tach is used. he pulled them out then squashed terminals over wired to this little aftermarket tach he fitted. i had to reverse the process, wish i knew were to buy new terminals, does anyone know?

My wiring for my tach got buggered so I got a bunch of stuff from these folks.
