Any filter or oil is better than none. I just change them more often. Same with all my vehicles. I have to admit they are normally Fram. But have done the supertech (oil and filters) with no problems. Please do what ever you feel comfortable with. I can only blame me if something happens. They are Black in color. I buy mine at O'Reilly's Auto parts in the United States South. Not that any of this helps you but you asked. If you have a hard time finding filters you should consider the cleanable re-usable permanent filters that are available. That is BUELLschite because if the oil filter plugs up, it does not make any difference if the filter valve opens or not because your engine is toast !!!   Lakes Posted on Saturday, September 29, 2012 - 05:16 pm:        Buellistic, thats true, i've been riding Harleys a long time and many miles, over a period of 25years i road a kick start only shovelhead i million kilometers thats about 600,000mile with the bottom end rebuilt a number of times and top end rebuilt a number of times have also owned sportster & still have a twin cam Dyna with 90,000k. but have always used motorcycle filters on them. one thing i know is Harleys don't need very high oil pressure as roller bearing crank, but Automotive engines run at higher oil pressure & most probably use a stronger oil pump , the latter model Harleys have better scavenging with better oil pumps, the Evolution motor should not use the filter designed for the latter twin cam motor as very fine filtration and needed the stronger oil pump to work, ( or so they say . so what difference in what size particals the automotive filter will stop compared to the stock tube frame buell XL filter? i'm thinking about useing a evolution Dyna oil filter as it is longer holds more oil than stock , & my friends used to use them on sportsters when they raced in the roaring sporty series back in the 90's .   Littlebuggles Posted on Saturday, September 29, 2012 - 10:44 pm:        I've been running the Dyna filter on my 2000 M2 for 10 years now. Seems fine so far, but that's only ten years.
