I agree, hideous. He took the rear shock off to make room for that ghastly exhaust. Tank is okay, not sure I like the controls either.

Actually... I'm a stickler for things... but I like it. For a stretched bike... why the hell not. And I really like that exhaust. I'm game for things that are done cleanly and original.

Cafe... no. Interesting. Yes.

Custom work is cool but he just put the handling into the toilet. could have done that to a Sportster.

I wish there was a picture looking down on the bike. I can't tell what that hump is on the back of the gas tank.

That hump on the tank is most likely the cap.

Am I missing something? I understand everyone has their own tastes, but an an S1 is unquestionably sexy. So to hack one to this is sad to me. Personally I would feel ridiculous riding this abomination. But then again some people like fat chicks.

I never understand people doing all this work and then expecting to sell it for profit.
Every penny they put into a project in their mind's eye is like making an investment.

I understand messing something up for your own use.

I do like some aspects of this bike though.
I like the pulley cover in the front.
I like the horn on the horn. toot!

Pretty much the rest for me just makes me scratch my head.

Why did he fab up a boomarang shifter control out of plate steel for instance?
What is the point of putting the rear suspension like that?
What is the point of putting that absurd exhaust on there with no muffler at all?

I don't like it.
That hump on the tank must make the bike unrideable.

As the owner of an S1 it does not agree with me.
But someone definetly had some skills building it nice metal plate work, custom tank,
I could not see a frame brace or an oil tank, whats the oil pump side cover it looks custom and looks like some kind of second intake on the left side!

Sweet bike, so Harley owners can customize the crap out of there bikes but Buell owners cant? All you haters are lame. I say good effort on the rebuild but I could do without the cheesy shocks and big hump on the tank. I like the stretched out look and the lowered forks.

I think with a sporty there's room for improvement, plus there's way more of them than are Buells.
To take something and "customize it" in this case - ruining it - where there aren't that many to begin with is just sad.
There are plenty of people here who customize and are actually making improvements to their Buells.
Aside from the horn, that thing is a turd.
That bump on the tank is a cup holder. Fits right in the abdominal cavity when you tuck.

that's fairly close to me... but for $12k it will stay pretty far away, no way he will get anywhere close to that price IMO!

I actually like some aspects of it but I don't see why they changed the rear suspension.

take something designed for a specific purpose. Throw out all of the engineering that went into the chassis to make it handle like something from the 50s' Then try and get more money for it than the sum of all it's parts.
For the price I'd buy three maybe four tubers. And could always sell them easily, but i'd rather keep them. That one.... not so much as the artist in unknown.
And some parts are really nice. It's just doesn't make as much sense to me as on a sporty. As they'er old school to start with and don't have such a prominent design you go from chopper to Cafe and they still work. You don't really take away much.
like this old 76' Sportster Cafe.

I'm going to 2nd the "YUK" on this bike. If it's what you like great, but to think that this is an improvement?? Makes no sense.

I didn't even notice the hump on the tank! The cam cover looks like an S&S cover.
